More details

Herbs π„ž Harmony is a seasonal course that focuses on the herbs that grow all around us*. Through song, we will connect to ourselves, each other and to the magical herbs with which we evolved. When we sing together in community, we enter a magical realm; a perfect place in which to meet plants in an intuitive way.

All plants offer doorways into a deeper knowing and I invite you to explore these doorways with me. This course offers an imaginative and intuitive approach to herbalism. Whilst we may discuss particular ways in which the plants have been turned to for human ailments, we will focus more on the embodied experience of the herb. There will be elements of storytelling involved too, guiding us gently into a space of imagination.

In the first part of each session, we will gather together and begin by warming up our bodies and voices. We will sing songs that celebrate our natural world and foster connection to ourselves, others and the non-human world. We will then drink a cup of herbal tea together and tune into our different senses, travelling an imaginative journey with the chosen plant. There will be space for reflection, reverence and fun!

By the end of the 4 sessions, you will have many a song relating to the natural world in your pocket as well as 3 or more herbal friends. You will have a new appreciation and deeper relationship with a selection of herbs growing at this time of year and hopefully you will have a desire to join the next season when we will explore more songs and plants.

*(though on the odd occasion I may use plants not from these lands, depending on the season)

Testimonials from past participants

β€œHerbs and Harmony was one of the most powerful experiences I've ever had meeting and exploring plants, and having the encounters with each one assisted and complimented by beautiful songs made it magical. Thank you so much Hannah for the way you held the group so gently and profoundly, would recommend this experience to anyone.” Poppy, 2024

β€œThis is way more than an incredible learning about herbs and song; I’ve found it to be a whole new practice with existential implications; what wonders unfold when we are fully present and open to the awesome gifts of the universe as their energies and properties flow through us.” Tristram, 2024

β€œThis course has been truly wonderful. I am so grateful for connecting with and learning about medicinal plants in this way. Now I feel I can develop this independently to connect with more plants. The classes were so rich and perfectly balanced with gorgeous singing in harmonies and rounds timed with the seasons and the plants. One plant in particular has become a great friend at this time.” Lucy, 2024
